The world is nonlinear: 8 benefits of using Abaqus
Benefit 4: Multiphysics
Abaqus supports various forms of multiphysics FE analysis, among which fully and sequentially coupled thermal stress analysis, electromagnetic, electrochemical, acoustic simulations or fluid structure simulations (FSI). As both Abaqus/Standard (implicit solver generally used for quasi-static analyses) and Abaqus/Explicit (explicit solver used for high dynamic cases) were developed from scratch by the development team, the results are interchangeable or it’s possible to run a structural-structural co-simulation analyses. For example, this feature could be used to effectively simulate the response of a vehicle to the dynamic impact of a tire with a bump.
