Webtraining – Modeling Material Failure with Abaqus

6 Oct, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

During this webtraining 4RealSim will introduce the general capability for modeling progressive damage and failure in engineering structures availble in Abaqus. For each technique the benefits and drawbacks are discussed. This webtraining is part of a series of fracture mechanics sessions (Modeling Material Failure with AbaqusModeling adhesives with Abaqus & Mesh-independent fracture modeling XFEM).
4RealSim believes in continuous Abaqus learning and regularly organizes webtrainings for our customers. Join our webinar and learn more about Abaqus, get more confident in the usage and become more efficient!

Progressive damage and failure inside Abaqus

Abaqus offers a general capability for modeling progressive damage and failure in engineering structures. Stiffness degradation is modeled using damage mechanics. Material failure refers to the complete loss of load carrying capacity that results from progressive degradation of the material stiffness.
Progressive damage and failure can be modeled for:

  • Ductile materials
  • Fiber-reinforced composites
  • Interface materials

During the webtraining we will focus on the damage and failure possibilities of ductile material and fiber-reinforced materials.

The interface materials will be covered in the webtraining: Modeling adhesives with Abaqus.

Who can attend the 4RealSim Abaqus webtraining?

This 4RealSim webtraining is intended for our Abaqus customers.
