Abaqus/CAE: the complete Abaqus pre-processor

Abaqus/CAE is a complete Abaqus environment in which you can quickly and efficiently create, edit, monitor, diagnose, and visualize results of advanced Abaqus/Standard, Abaqus/Explicit and Abaqus/CFD simulations. The intuitive interface integrates modeling, meshing, analysis, job management, and results visualization in a consistent, easy-to-use environment that is simple to learn for new users, yet highly productive for experienced users. Abaqus/CAE supports familiar interactive computer-aided engineering concepts such as feature-based, parametric modeling, interactive and scripted operation, and GUI customization. The solution uses neutral database files that are machine independent.

Abaqus/CAE is divided into modules, where each module defines a logical aspect of the modeling process. As you move from module to module, you build the model from which Abaqus/CAE generates an input file that you submit to the Abaqus/Standard, Abaqus/Explicit or Abaqus/CFD analysis product. The analysis product performs the analysis, sends information to Abaqus/CAE to allow you to monitor the progress of the job, and generates an output database. Finally, you use the Visualization module of Abaqus/CAE (also licensed separately as Abaqus/Viewer) to read the output database, view the results of your analysis, interpret and communicate the results of any Abaqus analysis.

Associative interfaces

Users can create geometry, import CAD models for meshing, import third party meshes or integrate geometry-based meshes that do not have associated CAD geometry. Associative Interfaces for 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA, CATIA V5, SolidWorks, and Pro/ENGINEER enable synchronization of CAD and CAE assemblies and enable rapid model updates with no loss of user-defined analysis features.

Customization

The open customization toolset of Abaqus/CAE provides a powerful process automation solution, based on the Python language and the FOX GUI Toolkit. This open customization toolset enables specialists to gain productivity via automation of their repetitive tasks or deployment of proven workflows across the engineering enterprise.
