Isight material calibration

It is important to calibrate advanced material models for simulation, so that the response of the mathematical model used during simulation matches the material’s tested physical behavior. This webtraining is a live demo of Isight how it can be used to calibrate your material models.

Abaqus/CAE material calibration limitations

Abaqus/CAE has a build-in material calibration solution, but what if you have a different material that is not supported?
When this happens, you can take advantage of Isight and automate your Abaqus simulation to find a material model that fits your test data.

Data Matching component

The biggest challenge in material calibration is the error calculation between the test data and the simulation calculation. Here the Isight data matching component can help tremendously.
You use the Data Matching component to calibrate one or more simulation models by analyzing any variety of different measures between a target and simulation data generated in Isight.

  • Review the Finite Element model
  • Automate the Finite Element model in Isight
  • Calculate the error between test and simulation with the data matching component
  • Run an optimization to minimize the error
