Webinar – Modelling Rubber (Hyperelastics) with Abaqus

19 Jan, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

4realsim rubber elastomers

Elastomers are used everywhere- at work, at home, at play, and even while we move using any mode of transportation- automobiles, trains or aircrafts. Of course, the tire industry is heavily relying on rubbers. There are two categories of rubber: natural rubber currently obtained from the rubber trees and synthetic rubber derived from petrochemicals.
However, for something so common it is surprisingly difficult to model accurately with finite element analysis. During this webinar, we will focus on the complexity of rubbers and demonstrate how Abaqus can be used to numerically predict the structural behavior of your elastomeric components.

Modeling elastomers with Finite Element Analysis

During the webinar hyperelasticity will be introduced and how this behavior can be modeled inside Abaqus, the nonlinear finite element analysis solution. Various hyperelastic behaviours directly available in Abaqus will be reviewed, together with the material calibration tool. This tool helps you select the appropriate hyperelastic material model and help you find the material properties fitting your test data obtained from measuring.

Intended for?

  • Engineers who are investigating the structural behavior of rubbers
  • Engineers who are reaching the limit of their current finite element package
  • For engineers working in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Spain, Portugal, UK and Ireland
